Feature Artist Ted Egan
Ted Egan is best known as a country and western singer, whose songs celebrate the Australian bush and rural life. But as a young man, in the Northern Territory in the early 1950's, he worked as a Native Patrol Officer - where he was responsible for the welfare and administration of local Aboriginal people.

For those who don't know, the festival this year was hosted by the Central Australian Folk Society and we can assure you that a great festival was enjoyed by all those who attended.
The venue was Ooraminna Bush Camp, 40km south of Alice, which was also the site of Ted Egan's 'The Drover's Boy'. The facilities included plenty of hot showers, toilets, camping ground and crash pads under marquees. Swags were available for hire over the weekend. Don't forget June is our winter and night-time temperatures can drop to zero and below. So the fires were roaring and the port flowing.
All meals were included in the weekend ticket price. As there were no shops etc close by. Vegetarians were catered for so everyone was well fed.
The weekend ticket included the cost of camping, concerts and workshops. Day and concert tickets were also available

WA), Ted Burns from (QLD), Peter Bates and Tony Suttor (NT) ably assisting
